Sunsets & Some Songs
I went for a walk today. Not a long walk meant to burn all the calories I've eaten today. No. Just a stroll to check out the sun setting behind the mountains. We can't see the mountains from our house, but if we walk about 2 blocks west we get a beautiful view. Today, there was a bit of a haze over the front range but a vibrant pink splash of wispy clouds stretched across the sky above. I almost started crying when I saw it. Also, it took me back to our Tokyo days when we would catch a glimpse of Mt. Fuji in the distance. In the summer, the air was thick and hazy and visibility was low. But when the temperatures dropped, the air became clear and crisp and the view was spectacular. I used to stand on a bridge near our apartment, just staring at that one solitary mountain off in the distance. Sometimes we just have to take a moment to look around and breathe in and out slowly.
When I can't do that, I like to listen to music that soothes my soul. So, since I can't send you mountain sunsets, I give you this list of my favorite songs from the week. Listen to the words. Listen to the music. Close your eyes and take some deep breaths.
