Snow at last.
I'm sitting in my home office, watching the snow fall outside my window as I type. It's the kind of snow that is wet and heavy but seems to light as it floats down from the sky. The smallest boy is napping, while the biggest one is bingeing on PBS shows. I'm OK with that because it is allowing me some time to sip hot chocolate and organize a few things in peace. I dug out our snow boots, snow pants, coats and mittens. Even though it is supposed to be warmer tomorrow and into the weekend, it just felt right to get those wintery things out of storage.
To be honest, it has been nice to take a break from the rush of life. There is no school next week and I plan to enjoy every moment of that. My anxiety has been quite high over the past couple of weeks due to things I cannot control. I think a few days at a slower pace will be helpful.
For now, I'm going to enjoy the snow and think about what we can do to get in the spirit of the season. The weeks of unusually warm weather has delayed that for me a bit and I need to get caught up!
(No joke- I finished that last sentence and nap time ended. #timing)
